Rainbow Six Vegas 2

Just finished the single player campaign Sunday. I am a little surprised at how it all rattled out. Missing the four-player multiplayer really sucks. What can Jung and Mike do than our brothers-in-arms cannot? And then, there’s the underwhelming plot. The first Rainbow Six Vegas set up a conspiracy of global proportions. Spoilers ahead. And [...]

Whoa

This morning on my way to work was intercepted on my way to the South entrance/exit of the Red Line Chinatown stop by Joanie Lum, now on CBS 2 Chicago, who is married to a very, very distant cousin of mine, like 9 generations out. Just wanted to say hi, but, no, had to get [...]

New iMac?

Just heard about it this morning like everyone else. I’d say a 3GHz iMac in the 24″ range, 6MB cache, 1.07GHz FSB, with the graphics chip upgrade would probably be well worth the cost. I nearly threw down on an iMac actually, except I like the portability of my Macbook.

Shanghai Terrace

So, for Dad’s b-day, I unleashed the surprise visit to have the Peking Duck menu with tea pairings at the intimate Shanghai Terrace restaurant at the Peninsula (108 E Superior, Chicago). Of course it is pricey, but, having eaten at every restaurant in Chinatown several times over now, we wanted something different. And so for [...]

I’m okay

Others didn’t fare so well.

I’d just gotten off the Red Line and was crossing Archer when I heard the boom. And then the screams. The screams of people who had just seen something horrible.

Something must have happened

between Los Angeles and Chicago. With all the familiar landmarks gone, I must have lost my way somewhere.

re: Forbidden Kingdom

Hollywood is bankrupt. I fever for the burning of Babylon till a river of flames drip from my brow. The studios can’t burn soon enough.
Why does there have to be a damn gwailo involved everytime we have the possibility to break the glass ceiling? Here of course Jet Li, who vowed to make Fok [...]

Sick of it, sick of it all

I hate being sick. Is it just me or is this year just a ridiculously sick year? BLAH. And I just read that Asia is the source of all influenza. I can just see the reaction over there: China says, we are not the sick man of Asia, China says flu study is about splitting [...]
