As a young martial artist, we often bumped heavily foam-padded fists (since we could not easily shake hands) with opponents in the ring as a way of extending respect. Probably this is where we got that gesture. Yet the amount of pundit time being spent on it due to the Obamas is rather ridiculous. I’d rather we look at another way of saying right on:

It just confirms to me how out of touch the major media outlets are. I too have been doing this since I was in my late teens, which at this point is at least 10 years ago.
Fire your weapon, soldier. Just be careful of friendly fire. NAME & EMAIL required.
