I don’t understand Apple Sync

I just don’t have a very good idea about what is being synced and in which direction. System does not report state very well.

If I were to improve the Apple Sync interaction design, perhaps I might use panes: one pane for my iTunes and one pane for my AppleTV. Assuming that one only had one AppleTV and one iTunes, of course. In any event, one could then use the panes to see what is on each machine, and then select items and decide to sync one way or the other.

Lord knows I don’t want my hard drive eaten up by movies, music and all that such if it don’t have to.
