The one thing I have learned from the last three weeks on the job is, you do not want to wind up on a cath lab table for a hemodynamics exam. Believe me. Do whatever you can to stay off a fluoroscopy table waiting to be catheterized. Exercise, eat a healthy diet, etc.

I hope this wasn’t from personal experience.

Hey,
Having been on the fluoroscopy lab table for an EP study followed by a catheter ablation, I am extremely curious what you learned.

Right, there are two major branches of cath lab work — electrophysiology (ep) and hemodynamics — mostly I mean the hemodynamics side, which, barring congenital defects like shunts and the like, it is relatively easy to avoid being on this table, but, from what I have observed in my short career so far with cath labs, most people bring it on themselves with bad life decisions: smoking, substance abuse, bad food, no exercise. Then, disease kicks in.
