Stopped in the office this morning, but

I promised myself that I wouldn’t put in any more hours outside the normal work week, but, I thought I could get most of the fixes in today rather quickly. Went in at 11, grabbed the files I needed, did a few mods, but, realized I could do the rest at home rather quickly. But that’s when the tech nightmare started. I hadn’t used my desktop PC in some time, so I was surprised to find there was no Visio, no wifi, and no USB 2.0 ports on this computer. In fact, IE6 was still running on the old machine. Ran out to Fry’s to grab parts. When I finally got the hardware updated, I remembered I was running on an old Pentium 4 1.4GHz with 256MB of RAMBUS PC800 — extremely expensive stuff — which I’d bought back in 2001-2002. When did this hardware become so outdated? I could have done better for myself if I’d just bought a new laptop today. In fact, my G4 laptop is faster than the old beige box. Grumble. Oh well. I’ll dismantle it or recycle it soon.
